ShipWorks is sometimes unable to configure a remote printer to use the settings specified in the template. This is usually caused by printing to a networked printer that has not granted the "Manage Printers" permission to your Windows user account. You should check the properties of the printer on the remote computer and ensure the "Manage Printers" permission is enabled.
Alternatively, you can setup a networked printer to use a Local Port:
Open the Printers and Faxes Control Panel.
(On many computer that can be done by choosing Start -> Control Panel and then choosing "Printers and Faxes")
Select File -> Add Printer to open the AddPrinter Wizard.
Click Next and select "Local printer attached to this computer". Uncheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug n Play printer."
Click Next and select "Create a new port" and choose the "Local Port" option from the dropdown box.
Click Next and enter the path to your network printer. Such as: \\ComputerName\PrinterName.
Select the printer make and model, or click "Have Disk..." if you have the installation disks.
Finish the wizard.
After this is complete you can edit your ShipWorks templates to use the printer you just created. This should enable ShipWorks to configure the printer settings properly.
