USPS: Removal of USPS Regional Rates | FAQs
The USPS announced the removal of their Regional Rate service option beginning on January 22, 2023.
We've compiled the following FAQs to help ensure a smooth transition away from this service.
You may ship them as a Priority Mail package with the proper dimensions:
-
A1 is a top-loading box, 10" x 7" x 4-3/4"
-
A2 is a side-loading box, 10-15/16" x 2-3/8" x 12-13/16"
-
B1 is a top-loading box, 12" x 10-1/4" x 5" 7.67
-
B2 is a side-loading box, 14-3/8" x 2-7/8" x 15-7/8"
If cubic pricing is available based on weight, ShipWorks will automatically apply cubic pricing:
-
Regional Rate Box A: Cubic rates will apply for shipments over 1lb.
-
Regional Rate Box B: Cubic rates will apply for shipments over 3 lbs.
-
Shipping Profiles: Go to Manage > Shipping Profiles and edit any profiles that apply a Regional Rate box as the package type.
-
If you have Regional Rate boxes you wish to use to ship as Priority Mail packages, set the Packaging: as Package. Then, enter the dimension of the box into the Dimensions fields. See the What can I do with my Regional Rate boxes question above for the correct dimensions.
