Walmart: Add a Store in The Hub
ShipWorks connects directly to your Walmart Seller Center account via the Walmart API. With one click, or on an automated schedule, your orders are downloaded from Walmart. As soon as you process a shipment, ShipWorks communicates the updated order status, shipping method and tracking information back to Walmart.
This article will guide you through how to add Walmart Seller Center to The Hub. For information on how to connect Walmart in the ShipWorks Software, please see Walmart: Add a Store to ShipWorks.
If you already have Walmart connected to ShipWorks and need assistance with updating the store connection to use the new Walmart API, please see our article, Walmart: Update Connection to oAuth.
Walmart Seller Center Only
ShipWorks connects to Walmart Seller Center. Walmart Supplier Center is not supported.
Before connecting Walmart Seller Center to ShipWorks, there are a few things you will need:
-
Walmart connects to ShipWorks using your Walmart Seller Center account credentials (Client ID: and Client Secret:). If you have previously created a ShipWorks Client ID and Client Secret, follow the steps in this Walmart guide to obtain your account credentials. Otherwise, you will be guided through creating these in the following steps.
-
You will need to be logged in to The ShipWorks Hub.
-
Log in to the Walmart Developer Center.
-
Click on + Add a New Key For A Solution Provider.
-
Select ShipWorks from the Add a new delegateed access key: drop-down menu. Then, click Next.
-
Choose Full Access from the drop-down boxes on the ShipWorks Key Permissions page. Then, click Submit.
Your ShipWorks Client ID and Client Secret will be displayed for you. Stay on this screen as you will need to copy your ID and Secret into ShipWorks in a few moments.
-
Navigate to hub.shipworks.com and log in.
-
Click Settings.
-
Click the Connect Order Source button in the Order Sources section.
-
Click Walmart.
-
Enter a name for your store in the Order Source Name field. (This is the name for your Walmart store that will be displayed in The Hub and the ShipWorks software.)
-
Enter your Walmart issued Client ID and Client Secret. Then, click the Next button.
-
Enter the address and contact information for your Walmart store. Then, click the Next button.
This information is optional. However, if entered it will become the default Ship From address for your Walmart store in ShipWorks.
-
We recommend leaving the Upload my online orders with the shipment details checkbox checked. Click Finish.
With the checkbox unchecked, orders will not be updated with shipment details in Walmart Seller Center.
Walmart will now be connected and will display in the Order Sources section of the Settings screen.
Modify the connection to Walmart and update the store settings in The Hub. Here's how:
-
Click on the Edit button to the right of Walmart in the Order Sources section of the Settings screen.
-
Select to edit either the store Connection or store Settings.
-
Connection: This option allows you to update or change how ShipWorks connects to Walmart.
-
Settings: This option allows you to update
-
Address: The address associated to your Walmart store in ShipWorks
-
Desktop Settings: The name associated to the Walmart store in ShipWorks, how orders manually entered in ShipWorks are handled, and Address Validation settings for this store.
-
-
Sync Walmart with the ShipWorks Software
After successfully adding Walmart as an order source in the ShipWorks Hub it is recommended that you exit the ShipWorks client software and relaunch it. This will force the ShipWorks software to resync with the Hub so that it can configure the Walmart connection and download orders.
After syncing with the Walmart order source in The Hub:
-
The new Walmart store will be added in Manage > Stores .
When editing the store in the ShipWorks software, the store address, manual store settings, and store connection are grayed out and must be edited in The Hub.
-
Filters will be created in the ShipWorks software for orders downloaded from Walmart.
-
Walmart orders will be downloaded into The Hub and into the ShipWorks software. It may take up to 15 minutes for your Walmart orders to appear.
