Thank you for using ShipWorks. We are grateful that you would like to simplify your business by using our software.
In this series of articles we’ll cover all of the basics of getting started with ShipWorks, beginning with setting up your ShipWorks account, an introduction to The Hub, setting up your shipping carriers, adding your stores and marketplaces, installing the software and, of course, printing labels.
Our default settings will have you up and running in no time, but as time goes on and you become more and more familiar with ShipWorks, you’ll probably want to automate some tasks and settings. You will soon learn that ShipWorks makes it easy to do that, too. We’ve got a library of helpdesk articles at support.shipworks.com and some super-helpful support staff to help you take advantage of the full power of ShipWorks.

Sign up for Your ShipWorks Trial
Since you're reading this, you may have already created your ShipWorks account by signing up for your free ShipWorks trial. If so, thanks! You can skip this process when we get to it a bit later.

Set Up Your Ship-From Warehouse(s) in The ShipWorks Hub
What is The Hub? The Hub gives you web-based access to add and manage your shipping carrier accounts, manage your products and inventory, view order information, shipping insights, and more.
You will be guided through setting up your warehouse(s) in The Hub. Think of warehouses as your ship from locations.

Download and Install the ShipWorks Client Software
The ShipWorks software is where you do all the heavy lifting, like processing and printing shipping labels. You will be guided through how to download the software and how to install it.

Add Sales Channels and Stores to the ShipWorks Software
Adding your sales channels and/or stores to ShipWorks allows you to import your orders. We have more than 90 integrations, each with a setup wizards to guide you through the setup process. Have your own integration? ShipWorks can handle that too.

Select your printer(s)
Print labels with a thermal printer? Use a standard laser or inkjet printer? Use both? We will take a look to make sure your printers are configured properly.

Verify Your Carrier Settings and Shipping Workflow
Want to ship with as few steps as possible? We do, too. We will walk you through configuring a few default carrier settings to streamline your shipping process.

We will take a look at how easy and fast it is to process a shipping label in ShipWorks. Did you know there are multiple ways to process your shipments in ShipWorks? We will introduce you to those as well.

That is a great question. While ShipWorks can run on almost any Windows system, it might be a good idea to take a look at our system requirements just to be sure that your computer infrastructure is appropriate for the ShipWorks setup that is right for your business.
The ShipWorks Hub can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. However, the ShipWorks software that you use to manage your orders and process your shipping labels only runs in Windows.
However, we do have customers that run ShipWorks on their Mac computers in a virtual Windows environment. Want to learn more about this? Check out our help articles on how to set up ShipWorks on a Mac.
