When using a Cubiscan dimensioner with ShipWorks:
The dimensioner must be connected to your computer network using the device's Ethernet connection option
A single Cubiscan dimensioner can be connected to and used with a single ShipWorks workstation only
To configure the dimensioner with ShipWorks you will need the following information:
Model: The model of your dimensioner
Cubiscan IP Address: The static IP address assigned to your Cubiscan dimensioner
Default Setting and IP Address
The default setup for most Cubiscan dimensioners is to configure a static IP address that is used only by the dimensioner. If your device is configured to automatically obtain an IP address from your network, that IP address may change in the future. This change will break the connection between the dimensioner and ShipWorks.
Locate the IP Address
Port Number: The port number assigned to your Cubiscan dimensioner
(The default Port Number for Cubiscan dimensioners is 1050. If the port number has been modified for your network, you will need to know the port number assigned to the dimensioner.)
Need to reference Cubiscan documentation? Visit Cubiscan.com, select your model, then click on the Product Downloads link. The user manual should be located there.
2. Select Cubiscan.
3. Click on the Add button.
4. Complete the Add Cubiscan Device fields with the information specific to your Cubsican device. (All fields are required.) Then, click the Save button.
Your dimensioner will now appear in the list of devices.
Can I Edit a Device?
Modify a device's settings by first deleting the device. Then, add the device again with the correct settings.
Test your dimensioner and ensure that ShipWorks can import the weight and dimensions by following these steps:
1. Select an order in ShipWorks.
2. Locate the Weight: field in the Shipping Panel. To the right of the Weight: field you should see the weight being displayed from your dimensioner.
3. Click the Import Weight button. The weight and dimensions should import into the appropriate fields in ShipWorks.
Have a dimensioner and a scale connected?
When both a dimensioner and a scale (such as a stand-alone USB scale) are connected to ShipWorks, the weight being read from the dimensioner will always be the weight that is imported into ShipWorks.
There are several ways to use your connected dimensioner when you ship packages in ShipWorks.
Manually import weights and dimensions - Click the Import weight button to manually import the weight and dimensions into the shipment being configured. (Like in Step 3 when testing your dimensioner.)
With a keyboard shortcut - Press CTRL + SHIFT + W when configuring a shipment.
With a barcode scan - Scan a barcode to import the weight and dimensions.
Automatically - Tell ShipWorks to automatically import the weight and dimensions for you when you load an order.
