PayPal: Obtain a PayPal API Signature
ShipWorks connects directly to your PayPal account. With one click, or on an automated schedule, your orders are downloaded from PayPal. As soon as you process a shipment, ShipWorks communicates the updated order status, shipping method and tracking information back to PayPal.
You can also connect to your PayPal account in conjunction with your eBay store when eBay is added to ShipWorks.
This article will guide you through obtaining a PayPal API Signature (the preferred connection method) in PayPal.
This article assumes that you have a business level PayPal account. The following instructions guide you through the PayPal Business interface.
-
Hover over your username. (Typically located in the upper, right-hand corner of the PayPal page.) Then, click on Account Settings.
-
Select Account Access in the left-hand menu. Then, click on Update next to API access in the Account Access section.
-
Locate the NVP/SOAP API Integration (Classic) section. Click Manage API Credentials.
-
Verify that Request API signature is selected. Then, click Agree and Submit.
-
Click Show next to the API Username, API Password, or Signature to view them. Click Done when finished.
View existing API credentials by following the steps listed above. After clicking Manage API credentials in step 4 you will be taken to step 6 (skipping step 5) where you can show your API credentials.
