FedEx: Enable Ground® Economy (formerly SmartPost) - Enter a HUB

ShipWorks allows you to ship packages using FedEx Ground® Economy (formerly SmartPost). This article will guide you through how to enable FedEx Ground® Economy in ShipWorks by entering the HUB ID associated to your Ground® Economy enabled FedEx account.

There are a few things that need to be in place prior to configuring FedEx Ground® Economy in ShipWorks:

1. Click on the Manage tab and then on the Shipping Settings button.

2. Select FedEx from the list of shipping providers located on the left side of the Shipping Settings screen.

3. Select the FedEx account for which you wish to enter the FedEx Ground® Economy HUB ID. Then, click the Edit button.

4. Click on the Settings tab on the FedEx Account screen.

5. Select your Hub from the Hub: drop-down menu.

6. Click OK on the FedEx Accounts screen. Then, click Close on the Shipping Settings screen to return to the main ShipWorks orders grid.

That's it. You have enabled Ground® Economy with your FedEx account in ShipWorks.

FedEx Accounts with Multiple Hub Locations

Need to associate more than one Hub location with your FedEx account? Please add your ShipWorks account to ShipWorks for each Hub location instance associated with the account. For example, if you have two Hub locations associated with your account, the FedEx account should be added to ShipWorks twice, each instance associated to a single Hub location.

Use the account Description to describe which Hub is associated to each account instance to make it easier to identify the correct account to use when shipping.

Configure one or more shipping profiles in ShipWorks for FedEx Ground® Economy. Shipping Profiles save you time by automatically applying multiple shipping defaults to your shipments.
