Adding Alias SKUs to a Product

Background

An alias is an additional SKU assigned to a product. For example, if you have separate SKUs for the same product being sold on multiple sales channels, you can add the additional SKUs to the main product using alias SKUs. Doing so allows you to search for the product using any of the associated SKUs. It also allows ShipWorks to associate the product’s weight, dimensions or customs information to a shipment using any of the aliased SKUs.

Alias SKUs can be added when creating a new product or when editing a product already in the ShipWorks product catalog.

First Things First

We recommend that you run the latest version of the ShipWorks software. This allows you to access the latest tools and features and ensures the steps in this article will work for you. For assistance with checking your version of ShipWorks or with upgrading to the latest version, please see this help article.

The Process

1. Enter the SKU into the Alias SKU field.

2. If applicable, enter an alias name into the Alias Name field.

3. Click the Add button.

4. Repeat steps 1 – 3 for each alias SKU you wish to associate to the product.
