Locate International Orders (International / Military / U.S. Territories)
Background
ShipWorks uses filters to identify and organize orders shipping internationally, to military and diplomatic addresses, and to U.S. Territories. This article will introduce you to the default Destination filters within the ShipWorks software and will give you optional guidance on how to configure your filters to identify which orders need to be shipped and which have already been shipped.
First Things First
Address Validation
The filters mentioned in this article require address validation to be enabled. Enabling address validation allows ShipWorks to verify the addresses associated to an order so that the orders can be sorted into the correct destination folder.
Review the 'Does ShipWorks Have Address Validation' article to learn more.
ShipWorks comes with default filters designed to identify and group orders by the destination to which they are being shipped. These filters, by default, do not differentiate which of the orders have or have not yet been shipped. (We will look at how to sort shipped and not shipped orders a bit later in this article.)
The Destination filters in ShipWorks include:
All U.S.
U.S. Domestic: Orders with a U.S. address validated as a domestic address.
U.S. Commercial: Orders with a U.S. address validated as a commercial address.
U.S. PO Boxes: Orders with a U.S. address validated as shipping to a P.O. Box.
U.S. Territories: Orders with an address validated as a U.S. territory. (Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, etc.)
U.S. Military and Diplomatic: Orders with a U.S. address validated as a military or diplomatic address. (APO, FPO, DPO)
International: Orders with an address validated as an international address. (Shipping to a country other than the United States.)
Ambiguous: Address validation flagged the address as being too ambiguous. (The address may need to be verified with the customer.)
Invalid: The address was flagged as an invalid address by address validation. (The address may need to be verified with the customer.)
