Audit Records in ShipWorks
ShipWorks gives you the ability to easily view audit records so that you can review activities in ShipWorks related to orders, users, shipments, and more. This can be useful when you need to find out who shipped an order, who added or deleted items to or from an order, when did a user log into ShipWorks, who upgraded the ShipWorks database and much more.
This User Guide will walk you though how to use the audit screen to locate the audit records you need and how to view the different types of audit records available in ShipWorks.
In order to view audit records in ShipWorks, you must be logged into ShipWorks as a user with administrator rights.
The Audit screen allows you to search for and view audit records in ShipWorks. You can narrow down the audit records to those you need to view using Search Criteria. Here's how to open and use the Audit screen.
When the Audit screen opens, it lists all of the audit records available in ShipWorks.

You can easily sort the audit records by clicking on any of the column headers. Clicking the column header more than once alternates between ascending and descending order.

You can add or remove columns by right clicking on any column header and checking or unchecking the appropriate column name.

By clicking the Move Up or Move Down buttons, you can arrange the columns into any order you'd like.

By entering in Search Criteria you can quickly narrow down the audit records to those you need to see. You can narrow the audit record results by any combination of:
User: - Select a specific user for which you would like to see results.
Computer: - The computer on which the action was performed. (When using multiple ShipWorks computers)
Reason: - Allows you to view audit records related to an Action, Automatic Download, Manual Download, Combining Orders, or Splitting Orders.
Action: - Select audit records based upon the type of action being performed.

Delete - such as deleting an order or a shipment from an order

Once you have narrowed down the audit records to those you wish to view, you may be able to view specific details about the audit by double clicking on the audit record. (Not all audit records contain additional information.)
For example, in the below screenshot you can see that the admin user added a shipment to order number 6009. By double clicking on the audit record, you can view more details about what was added in the shipment.

You can view audit records related to an order in the Order Editor. Here's how:
1. Select the order for which you would like to view the audit records. Then, click the Home tab and then the Edit button.

2. Click on the Audit link to view audit records related to the selected order.

You can view audit records related to a ShipWorks user in the Manage Users screen. Here's how:
2. Select the user for which you would like to view the audit records. Then, click the View Audit button. (If you wish to view information for a deleted user, check the Show deleted users checkbox located in the lower left-hand corner.)
