Marketplace-Specific Warehouse Settings
Some sales platforms and marketplaces offer additional functionality when routing orders to the correct warehouse. This article will outline the additional features and how to configure ShipWorks for these specific platforms or marketplaces.
Since Rithum gives customers the ability to send Distribution Center information to ShipWorks or to completely route orders in Rithum, there are a few more warehouse settings that may need to be configured.
Aliases allow you to associate Rithum Distribution Center Codes with warehouses in ShipWorks.
For example:
You have two warehouses. The St. Louis warehouse handles orders with items associated with the Rithum St. Louis and Kansas City distribution centers. The Fall River, MA warehouse handles orders with items associated with the Boston and Providence distribution centers.
By creating aliases for St. Louis and Kansas City for the St. Louis warehouse and creating Boston and Providence aliases for the Fall River warehouse, we are telling ShipWorks what orders should be routed to which warehouse according to the Rithum distribution center code. For more information on how orders are routed, please see this article.
In the above screenshot, an alias of St. Louis has been added to the St. Louis warehouse in the ShipWorks Hub. This tells ShipWorks to route Rithum orders with items associated with the St. Louis distribution center code to the St. Louis Warehouse.
-
Click Settings. Then, click the Edit button to the right of the warehouse to which you wish to add an alias.
-
Select the store to which you wish to add the alias from the Store drop-down menu located in the Warehouse Aliases section.
-
Enter the name for the Alias into the Alias field. Then, click the Add button.
-
Click the Save button to save the added alias(es) to the warehouse.
Multiple Warehouse Aliases?
Add multiple warehouse aliases by following steps 1-3 above. As you add each alias, the aliases will be listed at the bottom of the Warehouse Aliases section.
NOTE: Once you have added all of the store aliases, be sure to click the Save button to save the changes made (added aliases) to the warehouse.
Important
! The value entered into the Alias field must match the Rithum Distribution Center code. It may be helpful to view the list of Distribution Center codes in Rithum so that you can be sure that they match exactly.
Here’s how:
1. Log in to your Rithum admin panel online.
2. Navigate to Fulfill then click Distribution Centers.
The distribution codes can be viewed here.
Rithum also gives customers the ability to create complex routing rules that can be used to route orders to a specific warehouse. ShipWorks gives you the ability to use the Rithum routing rules when routing orders to the correct ShipWorks warehouse.
To enable using the Rithum routing rules:
1. Navigate to the Settings screen.
2. Check the box for Use routing rules from Rithum.
If there is no routing rule associated with an order, ShipWorks will route the order based on the logic found in the Understand Order Routing article.
