User Permissions
ShipWorks allows you to create and manage multiple users, each with its' own username, password and specific permissions. You have the option to create users as an administrator or as a standard user. With standard users you can define specific permissions giving the user access to or denying access to specific features within the ShipWorks software. This article will cover the permission that can be defined for standard users in ShipWorks.
In order to create a new user or to edit an existing user you must be logged into ShipWorks as a user with administrator rights.
To modify the permissions for a standard user:
2. Select the user for which you would like to modify the rights, click Edit User, then select Rights.
To add or remove a right, check or uncheck the box to the left of the corresponding permission.
Default User Rights
By default, when creating a standard user, the following rights are assigned:
Customers
Can edit customer notes
Can send emails to customers
Orders(If there is more than one store connected to ShipWorks, order rights are configured for each store individually.)
Can edit the order status
Can view and edit notes associated to orders
Shipments
Can create, edit and process shipments
Can create and send emails.
Additional User Rights
The following additional rights can be assigned to a standard user:
Management
Can create, edit, and delete actions
Can create, edit, and delete filters
Can create, edit, and delete templates
Can create and edit products in Product Mode
Orders (If there is more than one store connected to ShipWorks, order rights are configured for each store individually.)
Can create, edit, and delete orders
Can view sensitive payment details
Shipments
Can void and delete shipments
Rights that Cannot Be Modified
Customer
Cannot create and edit customers
Cannot delete customers
Can edit customer notes
Can send email to customers
