Managing Warehouses
As your business expands it may become necessary to add additional warehouses to handle your shipping needs. Here’s how to add additional warehouses:
-
Open a web browser and navigate to hub.shipworks.com. Log in using your ShipWorks account email and password.
-
Click on the Settings link located on the left side of the screen.
-
Click on the Add Warehouse button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
-
Complete all fields, being sure that all information is correct. Then, click the Add button.
You will now see the warehouse listed on the Settings screen. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add additional warehouses.
! Warehouse names must be unique..
Setting a warehouse as the default warehouse tells ShipWorks to which warehouse orders should be routed when no other routing logic applies to an order. For more information on how the default warehouse applies when orders are routed, please see the article on Understanding Order Routing.
Current Default Warehouse
The current default warehouse is indicated in the Warehouse section of the Settings screen by a Default icon.
Set the Default Warehouse
To set a warehouse as the default:
-
Navigate to the Settings screen and click on the Edit button located to the right of the warehouse.
-
Check the Make Default checkbox.
-
Be sure to click the Save button.
When removing a warehouse from The Hub there are a few things to consider:
-
Be sure that you wish to remove the warehouse location. Warehouses that have been removed and that are assigned to the ShipWorks software at a warehouse location cannot be readded and reassigned to the ShipWorks software.
-
After removing the warehouse from The Hub, any orders already routed to the ShipWorks software at that warehouse location will still be downloaded into ShipWorks.
-
Shipment information will still be uploaded to The Hub and to the store or marketplace for orders processed at the warehouse location, even after the warehouse is removed from The Hub.
Important
When using ShipWorks internal inventory, if there are unshipped orders that have been routed to the warehouse being removed, you may wish to reroute the orders to a different warehouse location so that the inventory is allocated to a warehouse other than the warehouse being removed.
If you need assistance with rerouting orders to another warehouse, please see the Splitting Orders Across Multiple Warehouses section of the Splitting Orders in ShipWorks article.
To delete a warehouse from the Hub:
-
Navigate to the Settings screen.
-
Click on the Edit button.
-
Click the Delete warehouse button.
-
When prompted, click OK to confirm that you wish to remove the warehouse from The Hub.
