-
Select USPS from the Provider: drop-down menu.
-
Scroll down to the Shipment Details section and, if necessary, click the double arrows (
) to expand the section so that you can see the shipping options. Then, select the GlobalPost service you wish to use for this package from the Service drop-down menu.
The GlobalPost services will be the first options available in the Service drop-down menu.
-
Ensure that the Weight:, Dimensions:, and Packaging: are correct.
When configuring your GlobalPost shipments, we recommend you always include accurate package dimensions for the shipment, in addition to the weight. GlobalPost uses dimensional weight, so even though dimensions are not required for you to create a label, adding the package dimensions will ensure you receive the most accurate rate. Because GlobalPost uses dimensional weight, in most cases where dimensions are not included for the shipment, you will receive a post-shipment adjustment back to your account for the difference in the rate paid versus the actual rate.
-
Scroll down to the Customs section and expand it if necessary by clicking on the double arrows. Then, correct any customs data appropriate to this shipment.
-
When you are ready to generate the shipping label, click the Create Label button.
Please Note: The first time you generate a GlobalPost label in ShipWorks, an additional window will be displayed giving you the following information. You can check the box to not display this information again in the future. After you have read the information, click Close.
Your GlobalPost label will print with the To address as the domestic address for the GlobalPost Shipping Center. The label will also display the GlobalPost logo as well as the GlobalPost tracking number.
-
Select the orders for which you wish to process GlobalPost shipping labels. You can select multiple orders by checking the box to the left of the Order Number for each order you will be shipping. You can also press CTRL + A to select all orders in the current view.
Tip
Create an International Filter to more quickly identify qualified international orders!
-
Click on the Home tab and then click on Ship Orders.
-
On the Ship Orders screen, select all of the shipments in the Shipments column. This allows you to make updates to all of the shipments at one time.
Note: If you need to, you can still select one shipment at a time and make updates to only the selected shipment.
-
Select USPS as the shipping provider from the Provider drop-down menu located at the top of the Ship Orders screen.
-
Scroll down to the Shipment Details section and, if necessary, click the double arrows to expand the section so that you can see the shipping options. Then, select the GlobalPost service you wish to use for this package from the Service drop-down menu.

GlobalPost Plus is an international DDP service for shipments from the United States to 10+ countries including Canada, Australia, and the UK (more destination countries coming).
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means you, rather than the recipient, will pay for any duties and taxes assessed by the customs authority of the receiving country. These fees will be billed back to your account after the shipment has been processed through the country's customs office.

Not available for SmartSaver shipments
GlobalPost SmartSaver allows you to realize even more savings by bundling all of your individual packages into a larger container package, which you then send to the GlobalPost sorting facility. When the GlobalPost sorting facility receives the shipment, they'll sort the individual shipments by country and then send them on their way to the final destination.
GlobalPost SmartSaver services are available for accounts that ship more than 5 packages per day (on average) with GlobalPost. To apply, either call 1-888-899-1255 to speak to a GlobalPost team member or fill in the online Contact Us form to be contacted by the sales team. If filling in the form, include "SmartSaver Inquiry" in the Subject field, then choose General Questions for the Inquiry Type and ShipWorks as your Shipping Platform.
SmartSaver offers three options:
-
SmartSaver Pickup™ – GlobalPost will pick up your consolidated shipments from your warehouse and transport them to the closest processing facility the same day.
-
SmartSaver Bundle™ – Consolidate your individual shipments into one or more large containers and ship them to the GlobalPost processing facility with a container shipping label, provided at no additional cost.
-
SmartSaver Drop-off – Use a carrier account of your choice to ship your consolidated shipments to the GlobalPost processing facility. This option offers the deepest discounts!
Each option differs slightly, so you'll work with a GlobalPost representative to determine the right solution for your business. They will then provide you the detailed instructions on how to create the right labels for the individual shipments and container box.
In ShipWorks, you'll always create the individual shipment labels with one of the SmartSaver services.
Keep the following weight and dimension standards in mind for the individual SmartSaver shipments.

GlobalPost also provides some useful tools to assist in your international shipping: The HS Classification Tool (or Harmonization Code Lookup) and the Duties & Taxes Calculator.
The Harmonization Code Lookup tool helps you find the appropriate harmonization codes for your customs declarations. We recommend always including the correct harmonization codes on your customs declarations to ensure the destination country's customs authority can process your shipment in the quickest way possible.
To use the lookup tool, enter a simple item description in the search field and click Find Code. You'll then be prompted to drill down on the details of your item with a series of multiple-choice questions until the right code has been identified.
You can then enter the code into the Harmonization Code field for the shipment in ShipWorks.
The Duties & Taxes Calculator can help you estimate how much duties and taxes can be expected when shipping certain types of goods (based on your HS code) to certain countries. This can be very helpful when using GlobalPost Plus, which is a Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) service available when shipping GlobalPost via a Stamps.com account. Know in advance how much you’ll be charged for duties & taxes so you can budget appropriately.
Should any of your GlobalPost shipments that include loss/damage coverage become lost or damaged in transit, you can file a claim within 90 days of the shipment date.
GlobalPost Standard shipments include up to $100 in loss/damage protection. GlobalPost Plus shipments include up to $200 in loss/damage protection.
-
All claims must be filed by the shipper, not the recipient.
-
Claims for damage can be submitted at any time. Claims for lost packages cannot be submitted until 30 days after the shipment date.
-
All claims must be submitted within 90 days after the shipment date.
-
Go to the GlobalPost Claim Form page.
-
Fill in the online form:
-
You will need a good contact email, the shipment tracking number and shipment date, and claim amount.
-
Do not include the shipping cost when filling in the Claim Amount field. If the claim is approved, the shipping cost will be added to your total payment.
-
For damage claims, upload an image of the damaged shipment.
-
-
Send the form when all fields have been completed.
-
If you submit a partially completed form, GlobalPost will not be able to process your claim and will notify you via email. Complete any missing information on your previously-submitted claim form and resubmit it, or complete a new claim.
-
Once a claim has been approved, the refund will be immediately credited to your shipping account. It can take up to 3 weeks for a claim to be processed. Please contact GlobalPost if you have not received a response to your claim within 3 weeks.
If you feel your claim was incorrectly denied, please submit a new claim with new or updated information.
-
You will not print customs forms in ShipWorks.
ShipWorks will submit the customs information electronically, and GlobalPost will include the necessary customs documents when the package is relabeled at their sorting facility. Additionally, if your item descriptions in ShipWorks are accurate, GlobalPost will automatically add the correct HS Codes to your customs forms for all EU-bound shipments.
-
GlobalPost Standard and Plus shipments include default loss/damage coverage. Economy shipments do not include any default loss/damage coverage.
Additional Carrier Insurance is not available for GlobalPost shipments. However, you can add Parcelguard to GlobalPost shipments, with a maximum declared value of $400 USD.
-
GlobalPost Economy and GlobalPost Standard shipments can be included on USPS SCAN or End of Day forms.
GlobalPost SmartSaver shipments should not be included in USPS SCAN forms.
-
To ship in a Rolls package type using ShipWorks, select the standard Package option. Do not include dimensions for Rolls. Use the weight only.
-
There are two tracking numbers associated with a GlobalPost shipment:
-
The GlobalPost tracking number.
ShipWorks sends this tracking number to your customer and selling channel during the marketplace notification processes. For Economy shipments, packages are tracked only to the destination country. For Standard and Smartsaver shipments, packages are tracked to the destination address.
-
The tracking number on the actual label generated in ShipWorks.
This tracking number can only be used to track the movement from the shipment's origin location to the GlobalPost sorting facility. It is not shared with your customer or selling channel.
-
-
Disabling GlobalPost services in ShipWorks does not affect GAP labels. When you disable GlobalPost services in your Carrier settings, this only disables the GlobalPost branded services in your account. If you wish to not use GAP labels, you must contact our support team and request your account be opted out of the Global Advantage Program.
-
Currently, GlobalPost labels do not support Unicode characters (for example, Kanji or Cyrillic).
