FedEx International: Printing FedEx International Customs Forms (Commercial Invoices)
When shipping internationally with FedEx there may be required customs forms, also referred to as Commercial Invoices, that need to be printed and included with your shipments or that may be sent electronically (Electronic Trade Documents).
ShipWorks will automatically submit customs information electronically through FedEx's ETD program for any countries that support electronic customs submissions.
Labels created using ETD will have ETD printed somewhere on the label. If the forms were not submitted electronically, you will need to print the commercial invoice and include it with your shipment.
This article will give you more information to help make shipping internationally a bit easier.
FedEx automatically submits electronic trade documents for international shipments going to a destination country that supports ETD. There is nothing that you need to configure in ShipWorks.
Please see our detailed article on Filing FedEx International Documents Electronically.
Yes, you can. Please see the the above referenced article for details.
Keep in mind that when submitting forms electronically, it may not be necessary to include a copy of the commercial invoice with the shipment. In general, when submitting forms electronically, FedEx confirms the successful transmission and receipt of the electronic forms by including ETD on the printed shipping label. If the forms were not able to be submitted electronically, ETD will not be printed on the shipping label.
